Task Force 1-151 Mobilization Contact Information

Dear families of the 1-151 due to our continual moving forward in phases of training, we would ask that you no longer send anymore lettered mail or packages to Fort Stewart, GA. We will display our new address when we are settled in at Iraq. We appreciate all you have been doing by keeping the soldiers morale up by sending us mail.

Some issues that our Task Force has experienced that all of you can help us fix.

  • Several indications for unit of assignment are not being annotated correctly. This is one of the most important things you can do with addressing the mail. With out the proper unit identification on the letter it will not make it to the soldier in Iraq. By just stating "1-151" it is not enough to narrow down exactly what unit the soldier is assigned to at the local post office. We highly encourage you to always put their specific company name when addressing mail to your service member. We suggest that you talk to your soldier during their upcoming pass and find out what unit they really are in due to the possible cross leveling within the battalion. If you are not totally for sure, the local FRG can assist you distinguishing what unit your soldier is in.
  • Middle initials are not required, but sometimes help alleviate the possibility of any soldier having the same first and last name in the same unit. As rare as it sounds it does happen. We most definitely encourage using a middle initial.
  • Spelling the soldiers name right is vitally important. Please, we do not encourage using nicknames or other jargon when sending letters and or packages. The postal locater facility and mail orderlies/clerks utilize Alpha Rosters to ensure mail gets to the right individuals.
